On the shore of Lake Saimaa, in Kruunupuisto Punkaharju, you will find a picturesque and beautifully restored 1920s wooden built lakeside sauna. A cozy seating area with a fireplace, two dressing rooms, a washroom and a steam room with wood burning stove, own terrace and a dock for swimming provide ideally relaxing setting for get-togethers and meetings. The sauna is best suited for max. 10 people and can be booked all year round.

Sauna and taking a sauna bath are familiar to us to Finns. For Finns, a sauna is not a luxury, but an essential daily experience and an integral part of the culture. An offer to join a Finn in their sauna is an honour not to be missed. The sauna is a place where you rest, relax and focus on health and well-being. It is holistic physical and mental experience where mind and body find harmony. Bathing also reduces stress and promotes quality of sleep. Traditionally, the sauna has been a place to cure ills, talk business and even give birth. The classic sauna experience is to take a dip in the lake or pool afterwards, return to the sauna, then repeat the process. In winter, this means ice-swimming, where you plunge into a hole cut into the ice. Read more about Finnish sauna and introductions
